Free-range chickens live partially enclosed and are fed with corn, barley or alfalfa and enjoy longer and more active lives than industrially-farmed chickens.

Chicken meat stands out for its culinary versatility and nutritional properties. Free-range chicken meat has a better texture and more flavour, a yellow colour, less fat and is bigger than industrial chicken meat.

All of these differences are attributed to the fact that they are different breeds and they are slaughtered after 90 days as opposed to 45 days for intensively-farmed chickens, this is also reflected in the former’s higher price.
